Services Provided by Aldaview Services
Group Living:
Aldaview Services provides a variety of residential options for individuals who need 24 hour support to live within the community. Aldaview currently has 6 homes which offer between 18 – 24 hour support daily. Two of the homes are wheelchair accessible and one provides an awake night staff to monitor medical or behavioural concerns.
All referrals for the Group Living program must come from the Developmental Services Access Centre – Waterloo Region.

Supported Independent Living:
Aldaview also provides Supported Independent Living supports. Apartments are located throughout the community and individuals receive approximately 2 hours of support daily, allowing individuals to live independently in the community.

Community Participation:
Aldaview Services operates a day program in which individuals choose from a number of employment, life skills and recreation and leisure activities. Employment support is coordinated at the Peel St. location and range from in-house contracts to volunteer and paid work placements in various businesses in the community. Individuals who are unable to work, choose not to work or are retired enjoy lifeskills and recreation and leisure activities coordinated at the Riehl Home and 220 Hamilton Road.

Respite:
Aldaview provides two types of respite programs. The Summer Opportunities program is a day camp for teenagers in high school. The program is run Monday to Friday throughout the summer months, and on Christmas break and March break. This program allows the teenagers support when they are not able to attend school. Referrals for the Summer Opportunities program are accepted from families, individuals, the Waterloo Regional and Separate School Boards, as well as the Developmental Services Access Centre – Waterloo Region.
Aldaview also provides emergency and planned respite care within one of the 24 hour supported homes. Respite is available for families who require respite either during the week or on weekends. Respite must be booked through the Aldaview Administrator, as currently there is only one respite room available.

Foundations:
The Achieve program provides support to people from the community. Individuals must be able to develop goals and plans that will enable them to participate in work or leisure activities. Participants receive support based on their need to transition into community opportunities and the amount of support required or desired.
All referrals for the Achieve program must come from the Developmental Services Access Centre – Waterloo Region.
